EUCO gave its first concerts in 1981 and soon gained a worldwide reputation for elegant and refined music making of the highest standard.  As a musical ambassador for the EU they’ve made intercontinental tours to South and East Asia, North, South and Central America, North Africa and the Middle East as well as across Europe. Now giving annually 30 to 40 concerts its schedule includes prestigious halls such as Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Frankfurter Alte Oper, Milan’s Sala Verdi and Valencia’s Palau de la Musica as well as many major halls across Britain and the rest of the world. British soloists who have recently performed with EUCO include Nicola Benedetti, Alison Balsom and Julian Lloyd Webber. For their concert at Theatre by the Lake we are very fortunate to have the young Romanian pianist George Todica playing the wonderful Mozart Piano concerto #12 in A major K.414. George has recently completed an Artist Diploma degree at the Royal College of Music under Norma Fisher, having previously completed a Bachelors and Masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. George performs regularly across the UK and had his Wigmore Hall debut in October 2018. He has obtained over 20 prizes at international competitions, most recent being 1st prize at the Norah Sande Award 2019 and 1st prize at the International Llagollen Eisteddfod 2019. Previous competition success includes the 1st prize at the Moray International Piano Competition,1st prize at the Stefano Marizza Competition in Trieste, Italy, and 2nd Prize at the International Piano Campus Competition in Pontoise, France. The programme also includes Mozart Divertimento in F K138; Britten’s Simple Symphony and Bartok’s lively Romanian Dances.
